We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Our mission is to support & empower BAME women in London to rebuild their lives. To work to prevent & end abuse and violence against women, as well as providing services to meet the needs of survivors. Our work is holistic & empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse. Our mission is to promote and facilitate equality, integration, community cohesion & cross-cultural understanding.
Our vision is of a society where every woman lives in safety, with equal rights & equal opportunities, and where diversity is considered an element of strength & not one of division.
MEWSo is built on the values of:
Solidarity – we stand in unity with all women to defend ourselves from discrimination, inequality & exclusion.
Social Justice – we fight for fair and just relations between the individual & society.
Secularism – we act independently, & separately to any religious views or beliefs.
Equality & Diversity – we value difference & treat everyone with respect.
Collaboration – we work in collaboration & partnership with other organisations & agencies to develop a community-wide response to defend women’s rights.
User-led - we are run by and for BAME women.
