Rebuilding the Lives of Refugee
Women and Girls from Afghanistan

MEWSo is taking part in the first Big Give Women and Girls Match Fund challenge to support women and girls who fled the Taliban.

More than 600 refugees recently arrived in the London Borough of Westminster and need help to rebuild their lives. The women and girls remain brave, strong, and defiant, but many are traumatised, have suffered gender-based violence and domestic abuse, and have no, or little, family in the UK.

With your help we can unlock their potential - get them counselling, teach them English, improve their employment skills, support the girls in school, and increase their circle of friends - so that they can get their lives back and become active, valuable members of society.

At MEWSo, we have been providing just this kind of help and support for over a decade and helped hundreds of women and girls from refugee, migrant and long-settled ethnic minority communities.

Our Big Give challenge starts on International Women's Day, Tuesday 8 March. Then, we have just ONE WEEK! ONE WEEK to raise at least £2.5K. And whatever we raise will be matched by the exact same donation from The Big Give charity, doubling the amount of help we can offer.

So please, give whatever you can - large or small - it all adds up. We accept foreign currency, too, (via a debit or credit card). And, spread the word.

You can start donating from:

                             12noon, Tuesday 8 until 12noon, Tuesday 15 March

Help us strengthen these women's determination, boost their self-confidence and unlock their power. And, let's show the Taliban just what women and girls can really do when given the chance.
