Data Storing, Processing & Protections

Before You Make A Referral We Need Your Permission

1.  To properly store and process your data

2. To share your information, when appropriate, with other professional agencies

Please read the following information carefully

To support you we will need to record details about you. These details may include personal and sensitive information.

To comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (2018) we need to ask for your permission to store and process your personal and sensitive data for this purpose.

Personal data is information that can be used to identify you. This may include your name, date of birth, address and telephone number.

Sensitive personal data is information related to any of the following: racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health, sexuality or sex life, offences and/or convictions.

Where Will You Store My Data?

The records of your case will be stored in a secure electronic Case Management system called AdvicePro, accessed only by select MEWSo staff.

How Long Will You Store My Data For?

All electronic data stored on AdvicePro will be kept for six years and then destroyed. It will not be recoverable once it is destroyed.

You have the “right to be forgotten”, meaning that you can ask for MEWSo to delete your data by withdrawing your consent, at any time.

Why Would You Ever Need To Share My Information With Other Professionals?

We might need to share your information to make sure the right professionals are able to give you the right help.

For example: we may need to talk to your child's school if your child needs specific help, or we might need to talk to the local housing department on your behalf to deal with a particular housing issue, and so on.

Will You Ever Share My Information Without Consent?

MEWSo may need to share your information without your consent for totally legitimate reasons, such as for your own safety or for the safety of those around you, or if, for example, we receive a Court Order. On all such occasions, MEWSo will tell you what is happening.
