Senior Advisor
On Domestic Abuse and Welfare, and our Volunteers Coordinator
Her Story
Our Senior Advisor on Domestic Abuse has worked for MEWSo many years after being an active volunteer. She took a brief career break for a year but is now back with us again working also as an advisor on welfare and as our Volunteers Coordinator.
She has an Advice and Guidance degree with the Open University. Is a mother of two and has had her own experience of domestic abuse, so knows what she is talking about.
“Speaking up about domestic abuse and mental health is still taboo in our communities," she said. "We need to encourage more women to talk about their problems and rebuild their lives. Whatever our clients tell us, their personal information will only ever be shared with relevant members of staff and external agencies who are there to help them. No one else.”
