Zahra Habri

Zahra worked for MEWSo as a senior advisor for five years after being an active volunteer. She took a brief career break for a year but is now back with us again working as a senior advisor on welfare and domestic abuse.

Zahra has an Advice and Guidance degree with the Open University.​ Is a mother of two and has had her own experience of domestic abuse, so knows what she is talking about.​ 

 

“Speaking up about domestic abuse and mental health is still taboo in our communities," she said. "We need to encourage more women to talk about their problems and rebuild their lives. Whatever our clients tell us, their personal information will only ever be shared with relevant members of staff and external agencies who are there to help them. No one else.”​
